gilded full plate movement, ruby cylinder escapement, three-arm balance, blued steel flat balance spring with compensation curb, balance cock engraved with a mask, fusee and chain, two polished steel hammers repeating on gold blocks, gilt metal dust cap with aperture for winding signed and numbered Recordon Late Emery, Cockspur Str, Charing Cross, London, No. 8932, white enamel dial, Roman numerals, outer minute ring, blued steel hands, eccentric subsidiary seconds, signed Recordon, Late Emery, London, 18ct pink gold case, engine-turning to the back and band, repeat push-and-pull twist piston to the pendant, engraved crest to the central cartouche, hallmarked London 1806, case marker's mark LC incuse with scroll or fish above for Louis Comtesse

Louis Recordon (active 1778-1824) worked initially in Greek Street, Soho and later, in 1797, he succeeded to Josiah Emery's business at 33 Cockspur Street, Charing Cross. Recordon was also Breguet's agent in London.
