A JEWELLED FOUR-COLOUR GOLD, ENAMEL AND IVORY PORTRAIT SNUFF BOX, CHARLES COLLINS & SÖHNE, HANAU, CIRCA 1825


rectangular, the lid inset with an oval miniature on ivory of Napoleon I, by J. Parent, signed and dated: J.P. 1815, wearing the uniform of a colonel of the chasseurs à cheval, with the sash, star and badge of the Order of the Legion of Honour and the badge of the Iron Cross of Lombardy, within an unusual border of raised enamel flowers and scrolls, framed by large rose diamonds, the sides and base crisply chased in coloured golds with neo-classical motifs, maker's and CK marks on lid and base

9cm., 3½in. high
