AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED ("LOUISE") AS DUCHESS OF PARMA, TO HER SON WILLIAM ALBERT [FUTURE PRINCE OF MONTENUOVO],


in French, commending her five-year-old son on his bravery, coping with having two teeth extracted, which was described to her by his governess Mlle Marianne ("Marianelli") and Mr Zocle, and on a piece of his writing that she had only just noticed, 2 pages, 12mo, Persenbeug (near Melk, Austria), 1 September 1826


Marie-Louise was Napoleon's second wife and Empress from 1810 to 1814. She gave birth to William Albert in Parma in 1819, before Napoleon's death, and before her marriage to her lover Count Adam Albert von Neipperg.
