circa 2nd Century, with restored head of Vitellius


wearing a tunic, cuirass with lappets covering his right upper arm, and paludamentum fastened with a circular brooch on his right shoulder and falling in long folds over the chest; with restored socle and head of Vitellius.

Total height 53 cm.

Chips, abrasions, and weathering to drapery folds overall, especially along edge of last fold falling over proper left shoulder. Loss to mantle fold behind brooch on proper right shoulder. 

Rusty iron hook affixed to central support in back.

Modern head of Vitellius with chipped ear rims and worn nose tip and nostril edges.
