Description

TONY SHERIDAN

"LET THEM BE"

3-inch reel to reel tape on Schneider branded spool in a Scotch brand box labelled in blue ballpoint in the hand of Brian Epstein "Let Them Be | Sung & written by Tony Sheridan", with cancelled earlier label (reading in part "I wish you could be here")

[with:] Letter of provenance signed by Brian Epstein's nephew Henry Epstein, 2015

Tony Sheridan, who had famously used the Beatles as backing on 'My Bonnie' in 1961, moved away from rock n roll in the mid-60s but continued to write and perform. His song 'Please Let Them Be' was performed by Gerry Marsden (who was, of course, managed by Epstein) and released by him as a single in 1967.
