In the summer of 1927 Geog Jensen, Silversmiths, Ltd., 15b New Bond Street, began a series of advertisements, the first of which quoted the well-known writer, Julia Cairns (1893-1985): 'The Aristocrat of Silver. There is a charm in simple lines, in perfect proportions, and a great charm still when the individual artist is fashioning silver that will live - The modern cocktail set – the more dignified wine-cooler – the most exquisite of candelabras – the daintiest of bon-bon dishes, almond baskets, fruit tazzas and ice cups – such are the silver studies by George Jensen. Remember, there is a sort of social tradition about silver, and the art of Georg Jensen is the aristocrat of it all!' (The Graphic, London, Saturday, 18 June 1927, p. ii)
