Viktor & Edit Baerlocher, Vienna in the 1930s and from 1938 St. Gallen, Switerland, thence by descent
Often referred to as “Soldaten Schindler”, due to his preference for military subjects, this Austrian artist liked to depict the daily lives of soldiers, as the charming present sheet illustrates. Schindler exhibited at the Academy in Paris in 1839 before dying from tuberculosis aged only twenty-one.
