A Louis XVI gilt-bronze, white marble and enamel skeleton clock with calendar and remontoire, the enamels by Joseph Coteau, Paris, circa 1790
4¾-inch open-centered dial with outer date and inner day indications, centre seconds, finely pierced and engraved lyre time hands, signed below 6 Coteau, surmounted by a lunar dial with lunar date, a further open-centred dial below indicating the months and four seasons, the two-train bell striking movement with single spring barrel and outside count wheel, the strike winding the remontoire to the weight-driven going train, with pin wheel escapement and large horizontal balance, the frame applied with finely cast and chase mounts and applied with enamel plaques decorated in blue and gilt, the rectangular plinth inset with a frieze depicting putti at play, on toupie feet; together with a later mahogany stand and glass dome
