the body applied with two Cupids representing day and night, the first holding a bow on a radiating ground, the second holding an arrow, a moon Crescent behind him, with two mobile handles shaped as laurel leavesand berries garlands, attached to the body by pilasters, the base resting on a later wooden base, stamped BOUDET BD DES CAPUCINES 43 under the base

Victor Boudet is a goldsmith and chiseler who inscribed his hallmark in 1894. His workshop located at 43 Boulevard des Capucines is still in activity in 1902 before his move. This magnificent bucket does not seem to have a goldsmith's hallmark. It is therefore likely that Boudet chased this piece with great virtuosity but it is impossible to say for sure that he was the goldsmith.

Victor Boudet est un orfèvre ciseleur qui a insculpé son poinçon en 1894. Son atelier situé 43 Boulevard des Capucines est encore en activité en 1902 avant son déménagement. Ce magnifique seau ne semble pas présenter de poinçon d'orfèvre. Il est donc vraisemblable que Boudet ait ciselé cette pièce avec une grande virtuosité mais il est impossible d'assurer qu'il en soit l'orfèvre.
