These were commissioned for First Class Service aboard the legendary S.S. Normandie ocean liner, built for the French Line, Compagnie Générale Transatlantique (CGT). She entered service in 1935 as the largest and fastest passenger ship afloat, crossing the Atlantic in a record 4.14 days. The luxurious interiors were designed in Art Deco style and overseen by French architect Roger-Henri Expert.
