Description

2001-02 Michael Jordan Game Used Photo Matched and Signed Washington Wizards #23 Home Jersey Used on 11/11/01 - Double-Double 16 Pts. & 12 Reb. (Meigray, Uda & Sports Investors Authentication)

2001 marked the return of Michael Jordan to the basketball court. The legend had spent the previous two seasons running his own team, the Washington Wizards, from the front office. However, life as an executive proved to be nothing like playing the game, and Jordan made the second comeback of his career by putting on a jersey for the 2001-02 season. To show that this comeback was more personal than financial, Jordan donated his salary to the victims of the September 11th, 2001 terrorists attacks. The night of November 11, 2001 saw Michael Jordan at his best, scoring 16 points with 12 rebounds against Seattle, recording one of the 200 double-doubles of his Hall of Fame career.

This offered Wizards’ Michael Jordan jersey has been photo matched by Sports Investors Authentication to the November 11th, 2001 game. The home white mesh jersey has “WIZARDS” across the front in gold and blue above Jordan’s immortal number “23.” The right shoulder has the 9/11 American Flag with ribbon patch and the left carries the NBA logo. The left front tail has a Wizards/Nike size 50 label with a “LENGTH +4” hang tag sewn below. An addition manufacturer’s tag and Nike “2001-02” label are sewn inside. The sides as well as the arm and neck openings are trimmed in blue and gold. The back features “JORDAN” above his number “23” in blue and gold. The Hall of Famer has signed the “2” on the front of the jersey in black marker diagonally, completing this Jordan double-double gamer. This jersey comes with a LOA from the MeiGray Group (110623) for the game use and has been photo matched by Sports Investors Authentication to the November 11th, 2001 game and have provided an LOA (201116B1). There is also a COA from Upper Deck (BAH70732) for the signature.
