Sara Greenerger Rafferty’s interdisciplinary practice incorporates photography, painting, sculpture, performance, and installation.Through the lens of entertainment, Rafferty magnifies the sense of dehumanization inherent in the age of surveillance and big data. Her work often incorporates a performative element as she engages ideas surrounding archives, visual culture, humor, and the body politic.

Recent solo exhibitions of Rafferty’s work include those at Joan, Los Angeles; DOCUMENT, Chicago; and Rachel Uffner Gallery, New York. Her work has been included in exhibitions at the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art, Oregon; Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego; and the Jewish Museum, New York. Rafferty was a participant in the 2014 Whitney Biennial.
