Honggoo Kang’s work exploits the photographic form through acts of corruption and manipulation. By dismantling and reconstructing existing images, Kang examines the ever-changing landscape of the social and cultural visual vernacular. With his frequent use of simple technologies and techniques, Kang allows the visibility of his process to underscore the uncanniness of his manufactured subject matter.

Recent solo exhibitions of Kang’s work include those at One and J. Gallery, Seoul; Wumin Art Center, Cheongju; and Seohakdong Photo, Jeonju. His work has been included in exhibitions at Gallery King, Seoul; Art Space Pool, Seoul; and G&J Gwangju·Jeonnam Gallery, Seoul.
