We are grateful to Anne Morrison-Hudson for her kind assistance with the cataloguing of the present work.

The work is executed on rough board in keeping with Eardley's working practice. The board has some inherent imperfections. Overall the work appears to be in good original condition. There are some cracks to the board verso. Some very fine vertical cracks visible on close inspection recto. An area of lifting to the board, inherent and contemporary to the time of execution, in the centre right of the composition. There are old nail holes visible along the upper edge. A small area of cracking to the upper right hand corner. Some other imperfections. Specks of matter and studio detritus. Artist's fingerprints visible.

UV light inspection reveals no evidence of any retouching or restoration.

Held in the original frame.
