three-tiered hexagonal form with spiral columns at the angles, openwork tops and crown finials, hung with five rows of bells, lower bodies cast with shells and acanthus, staves with beaded borders and chased with acanthus, engraved Philip Salomons Esqr

marked throughout, some bells unmarked

Reuben David Sassoon (1834-1905), to his great-niece and sister-in-law
Flora Gubbay, Mrs. Solomon David Sassoon (1856-1936), no. 26; to her son
David Solomon Sassoon (1880-1942), to his son
Rabbi Solomon David Sassoon of Letchworth (1915-1985), and by descent
Charles Reily and George Storer entered their first mark as partners January 1, 1829, at 6 Carey Lane  - next to the Goldsmiths' Hall and one block from St. Paul's Cathedral.  The partners were back at that address for the registration of their next mark in 1840.  Arthur Grimwade notes that their later marks "are found principally on fine quality snuff-boxes and other small pieces".
