An impressive silver-gilt, champlevé enamel and glass centrepiece, Pavel Ovchinnikov, Moscow, circa 1890


the whole with polychrome enamel stylised ornament, the stem resting on six columns and supporting twelve blue-coloured glass flutes under a flared bowl, flanked by two further glasses on the stepped base, the bottom of each glass and holder numbered with corresponding numbers, struck P.Ovchinnikov beneath the Imperial warrant on the bowl, further marked with workmaster’s initials on the centre and the side of the base, 91 standard

height 40cm, 15 4/5in.

A similar centerpiece from a Private English Collection was sold Sotheby's London, 31 May 2008, lot 352.
