A jewelled gold portrait snuff box, Friedrich Köchli, St Petersburg, circa 1890


rectangular with cut corners, the lid applied with a later portrait miniature on ivory of Nanette Heine in a velvet gown, signed Stieler, within frame set with later diamonds, below an Imperial crown over diamond-set ribbon, interior lined with rose gold, struck with workmaster's initials, 56 standard, the rim further struck ‘17’ and ‘24’

width 8.9 cm, 3 1/2in.

This lot contains ivory.
