The coat of arms are those of Todd of Tranby Park, East Riding, co. York with Rutherford in pretense, for John Todd, Esq. J. P. (1789-1854), who purchased Halnaby Hall, North Riding, co. York from Sir John Milbanke, Bart. He married in 1827 Jane eldest daughter and co-heir of Thomas Rutherford, only son of Archibald Rutherford, Esq. of Jedburgh and Newcastle-on-Tyne, by Jane Atkinson his wife, only sister of Ralph Atkinson, Esq. of Angerton, Northumberland and Newcastle-on-Tyne
