RUTH BERNHARD | TRIANGLES
8,000 - 12,000 USD
gelatin silver print, flush-mounted, mounted again to grey board and again to buff board, signed in pencil on the final mount, matted, a Scheinbaum & Russek, ltd., Santa Fe, label on the reverse, 1946 (Ruth Bernhard: The Collection of Ginny Williams, pl. 23)
12 by 9 in. (30.5 by 22.9 cm.)
This early print, on velvety matte-surface paper, is in generally very good to excellent condition. When examined closely, the following are visible: minuscule, insignificant edge chipping; and a few hairline scuffs, visible only in raking light.
The photograph is trimmed to the image and flush-mounted to thick board. It is mounted again to thick grey board measuring 12-1/2 by 9-3/4 inches. It is then again mounted to this buff-colored board, which measures 20 by 16. inches. Yellowed adhesive and abrasions along the upper edge of the final mount suggest this photograph was previously overmatted. There is a thin tideline along the lower edge of the mount. There is some wear to the edges and corners of the mount, as well as some minor soiling, none of which impacts the photograph. The reverse is soiled and there are abrasions.
