TWA AIRPLANE ON THE TARMAC
warm-toned, gelatin silver print, black ink borders, mounted, framed, a Ginny Williams Collection label on the reverse, circa 1938
9¼ by 13 in. (23.5 by 33 cm.)
This warm-toned early print, with a somewhat matte, slightly pebbled surface and with black ink borders, is in generally very good condition. There are a few matte deposits visible upon very close examination that may be original retouching. There is a small tear extending from the center left edge to the tip of the plane wing.
There is wear to the black inked edges and corners. The thin mount is age-darkened and soiled from handling, There are small losses at the tip of each corner of the mount. 'PF 118251-111' is written in an unidentified hand in pencil on the reverse. The reverse is soiled and there are some stray graphite marks.
