1923-1971

‘FOUR PEOPLE AT A GALLERY OPENING, N.Y.C.’

gelatin silver print, signed, titled, dated and editioned '38/75' by Doon Arbus, the photographer's daughter, in ink and with the 'A Diane Arbus Photograph,' copyright, and reproduction rights stamps on the reverse, framed, a Ginny Williams Collection label on the reverse, 1968, printed posthumously by Neil Selkirk (Aperture, unpaginated)

14¾ by 14¼ in. (37.5 by 36.2 cm.)

This print, on double-weight Agfa paper, is in generally excellent condition. There are some very faint handling creases visible in raking light, including a sharp crease in the center left that does not appear to break the emulsion. '12/89' and 'RMG#A 8905.149-0' are written in an unidentified hand in pencil on the reverse.
