BORIS IGNATOVICH | AT THE HERMITAGE
AT THE HERMITAGE
gelatin silver print, credit and annotations in pencil and with a 'univ. prof. ing. lubomir linhart' collection stamp on the reverse, framed, a Ginny Williams Collection label on the reverse, 1930, probably printed in the 1960s
7⅝ by 11⅜ in. (19.4 by 28.9 cm.)
This photograph, on double-weight paper with a surface sheen, is in overall excellent condition. Visible in raking light are the following: deposits of retouching, possibly original; some linear impressions that do not appear to break the emulsion; and an irregular-shaped glossy area near the right edge. There is a small rust-colored area of discoloration in the center near the lamppost. This print is trimmed to the image and the tips of the corners are bumped. There is a small crease at the upper right corner that breaks the emulsion.
On the reverse, the following is written in pencil in unidentified hands: 'Boris Ignatovich [in Cyrillic]'; 'Boris Ignatovich'; and '6 [circled].' There are adhesive stains and some abrasions along the upper edge, as well as some minor soiling on the reverse.
When examined under ultraviolet light, this photograph appears to fluoresce.
