'SCRAMBLES TRACK, JOLIET, ILL.'
mounted, a typed label, with title and date, on the mount, signed and dated '65' in pencil and with the photographer's 'Bleak Beauty' stamp, initialed and dated in pencil, on the reverse, 1965
6 by 6 in. (15.2 by 15.2 cm.)
This early print, on semi-glossy paper, is in overall very good condition. Upon close examination there is minor chipping along the lower edge and a minute loss of emulsion along the right edge. In raking light, the following are visible: a very small mounting crease in the upper left corner; a few pin-point-sized impressions in the lower portion of the image that do not appear to break the emulsion; and some very faint rubbing.
The thin mount is appropriately age-darkened, and there is soiling from handling at the edges and on the reverse.
When examined under ultraviolet light, this photograph does not appear to fluoresce.
