This film was Spike Lee's first feature-length film, after his thesis film for NYU graduate school, and launched his career. It was written, produced, directed and edited by Lee, and was shot in black-and-white on a low budget. The film stars Tracy Camilla Johns, Tommy Redmond Hicks, John Canada Terrell and Spike Lee. The film tells the story of a girl who is seeing three different guys simultaneously, all of whom want a monogamous relationship with her, which she is resistant to. The story is told from the perspective of the girl herself, her partners and friends.
