This British fly-on-the-wall biographical documentary film is about David Hockney's break-up with his partner, Peter Schlesinger, in the early 70s, which left Hockney in a terrible emotional state, unable to create anything. As time went by, Hockney was able to find inspiration from the swimming pool in his Californian home, which he began to paint, and which the film takes its name from. The film was directed by Jack Hazan, and includes many of Hockney's close friends.
