Description

QUADROPHENIA (1979) POSTER, BRITISH

SIGNED BY FRANC RODDAM, DIRECTOR; TREVOR LAIRD; TOYAH WILLCOX; PHIL DAVIS; LESLIE ASH, STEPH; PHIL DANIELS, JIMMY; GARY SHAIL; GARRY COOPER, PETE; MARK WINGETT

30 x 40 in. (76 x 102 cm)

This film was Franc Roddam's feature film directional debut. It is set in 1964 and follows Jimmy (Phil Daniels), a Mod from London, who breaks free from his boring life and annoying parents to join his friends and fellow Mods as they ride their scooters, party and get caught up in a huge fight. All is not perfect as he discovers. An interesting look at the youth culture of the time. The cast also includes Leslie Ash, Toyah, Philip Davis, Mark Wingett, Sting and Ray Winstone. This piece has been signed by the director, and each of the cast members, above their image, with the exception of Sting. Some of these signatures were obtained at a cast Q&A at the French Institute Cinema in Kensington. The rest of the signatures were obtained at a special reunion of the cast in Brighton. It is rare for anyone to have an original film poster signed, as the majority of signatures are on pieces of paper, photographs and video/dvd sleeves. It is unusual to have the film's poster with you when you try to obtain signatures.
