SIGNED BY JOHN CARPENTER, DIRECTOR
28⅛ x 13⅝in. (71.3 x 34.5 cm)
This horror thriller was directed and scored by John Carpenter and written by Carpenter and Debra Hill. The film stars Donald Pleasence, and Jamie Lee Curtis in her first feature film. A psychiatric patient, who was committed to a sanatorium for murdering his sister on Halloween, escapes to kill again. This film was the first in this popular franchise. The artwork on this Australian poster is entirely different to the US release poster and is extremely sought-after by horror collectors. This poster was signed by John Carpenter after performing at a Release the Bats Tour concert. It is rare for anyone to have an original film poster signed, as the majority of signatures are on pieces of paper, photographs and video/dvd sleeves. It is unusual to have the film's poster with you when you try to obtain signatures.
