Some strokes of retouching are visible in the upper right corner, and some feathery strokes of retouching or strengthening scattered in the architectural setting Otherwise, only a few scattered strokes are visible here and there. Offered in a simply carved giltwood frame with chip and nicks.

The lower portion of this composition closely compares to a drawing of the same subject by Alessandro Magnasco sold at Sotheby's London in 2014,1 as well as to a painting by him showing a concert in an interior.2 The architectural setting of the present painting loosely recalls that found in Magnasco's painting of a similar theme today in the Nationalmuseum, Sweden.3
