There acquired by a private collector, Bedford, Connecticut;

From whom acquired by the present collector, July 2010.

The putto holding a vase is a quote from the lower right corner of a painting of the Magdalene by Schedoni in a private collection, London.1 The image of the reclining Cupid repeats the composition of a painting by Schedoni in the State Hermitage Museum, Saint Petersburg.2
