Published for 30 years in the press and shown in European and American galleries and museums, the work of the French artist Paul Steinitz combines the classicism of the pioneers of portrait and the spirit of the New York underground of the 70’s. His photographs refer as much to the legacy of Renaissance painters and German Expressionists as to the glamour of Hollywood films and the secular icons of Andy Warhol. After having experimented with numerous styles and techniques, he has specialized in platinum and palladium prints, conferring on his subjects, even the most modern a timeless aura.
It is the first time that a work from this artist is presented at auction.
