Condition report

Work: The panel is sound. Examination under UV light reveals no evidence of retouching. There are some thin lines of stable craquelure to the most thickly applied pigments. There are a few dots of accretion to the upper part of the left edge. There are a few small marks, possibly glue remnants, towards the centre of the upper edge. Impasto is well preserved. This work is in overall very good condition.

Artist’s frame: The board is stable. There are some abrasions associated with small losses at the lower right and upper left corners. There is some dust in the crevices. There is some discolouration in places, notably to the edges and to the joints of the frame elements. There is a dot of glue remnant towards the centre of the upper frame element. There are scattered nails which appear to have slightly rusted. The joints of the frame elements at the upper right corner appears to be slightly separated (as visible in the catalogue illustration). This frame is in overall good condition.
