MEADOW (WILD FLOWERS)
signed CEDRIC MORRIS and dated -28 (lower right)
oil on canvas
unframed: 54 by 67cm.; 21¼ by 26¼in.
framed: 70.5 by 83.5cm.; 27¾ by 32½in.
Original canvas. The work appears to be in very good overall condition.
Minor flattening to some of the impasto tips, with a few minute losses to tips, including to the white flower in the upper right quadrant with a few further possible instances elsewhere. Some areas of very fine lines of craquelure, including to the yellow and white flowers just right of centre (only visible upon close inspection). Some light surface dirt, mostly to areas of thicker impasto. A few Artist's pin holes to extreme edges. Some specks of matter and studio detritus in places.
Ultraviolet light reveals some signs of fluorescence in keeping with the Artist's materials.
The work is presented in a gilted wooden frame.
