Condition Report

The canvas is original and undulates slightly. There are faint stretcher bar marks towards the upper and lower edges with associated extremely fine lines of craquelure. There is reticulation and probable abrasions with a few instances of associated loss to the extreme left and towards the upper and lower left corners. There are very fine lines of reticulation and craquelure to the red circular motif and the upper right quadrant, with one or two possible further minor instances elsewhere. There may be some bloom to the work. There is surface dirt to the work, with instances of accretions. This excepting, the work appears to be in very good overall condition.

Inspection under Ultraviolet light reveals potential instances of fluorescence and retouching to the dark brown rectangle to the left of the work.

The work is held in a canvas slip in a gilt frame under glass
