• Movement: nickel with decoratively engraved bridges, lever escapement, compensation balance, numbered to the top plate 3142 and B 42
• Dials: first - white enamel with outer chapter ring calibrated twice in Roman numerals from I to XII, the daytime hours in white, the night hours against a grey background, rotating central enamel disc with polychrome time zones for 25 world locations • second - white enamel with polychrome time zones for 43 world locations, central rotating dial calibrated from 0-60, dial numbered to the reverse 3142

This watch is most likely made according to British Patent no.11,050 which is mentioned by The Horological Journal of September 1886 as follows: "Leopold Beguelin, Tramelin, Switzerland - 'Improvements in Watches, termed Universal Watches,' dated 17 September 1885. This invention relates to a watch giving the accurate time of the principal cities of the world, without much difficulty, by the use of two annular fixed dials, the one set on the face, the other on the back of the watch, and of two moving dials, one of which turns with the minute hand, and the other with "the hour hand of the watch" [see op.cit. Vol. XXIX p.14].
