Movement: gilded ¾ plate, spring detent chronometer escapement mounted upon an unusual crescent shaped carriage set with screws around the perimeter, bi-metallic compensation balance with two large curved sliding weights, blued steel helical spring, fusee and chain, the backplate decoratively engraved with scrolling foliage and signed Ignaz Ruziczka, in Wien

• Dial: white enamel, Roman numerals, outer minute ring, subsidiary seconds, sector for Réaumur graduated thermometer marked for Wärme & Kälte, spade hands, signed Iz Ruziczka, in Wien 

Case: gold, engine-turned back, the band heavily chased and engraved with flowers and foliage, the pendant and bow similarly decorated, case back marked INV and 1840 within a cartouche, gold cuvette engraved with movement details and filled with white, light blue and green opaque enamels
