Barthélemy Duhamel (1662-1705), a Master watchmaker from Geneva, was the son of Pierre Duhamel II (1630-1686). He was apprenticed to Abraham Bobinet in 1675 before being entrusted to the workshop of Pierre-Urbain Dufour in 1679. Barthélemy took Philippe Decombe as his own apprentice in 1688. See: O. Patrizzi, Dictionnaire des Horlogers Genevois, 1998, p.172. The decoration to the case of this watch closely follows the style established by the Huaud family of enamellers.
