• Dial: white enamel, black Arabic numerals, outer chronograph seconds and red numerals, subsidiary seconds at six, blued steel hands, signed Am. Watch Co, Waltham

• Case: 18ct gold, ornately engraved with scroll and foliage decoration, the front with diamond and enamel American naval Admiral's flag, the back with the early 13 star American flag and scroll with the motto 'our country right or wrong', inside case back engraved J. Frederick Hellweg, from Mother USN, 1900 and numbered 2809948, the cuvette with applied tintype image of three generations of ladies, inside cuvette engraved Made by J. S.
