• Movement: 1a quality, 19''' cal. 43 gilded ¾ plate, gold lever and escape wheel, some jewels carried in screwed gold chatons, bi-metallic compensation balance, diamond endstone, polished steel hammers repeating on coiled gongs, signed and numbered A. Lange & Söhne Glashütte b Dresden, no. 17298

• Dial: silver and vari-colour gold dial, the centre and outer border with chased and engraved gilded flowers and foliage, chapter ring with Roman numerals and tightly arranged engraved scrolls, outer minute ring, sunken subsidiary seconds, blued steel fleur-de-lys hands, signed A. Lange & Söhne Glashütte B/Dresden

• Case: "Jurgens" 18ct gold, highly decoratively covers engraved by Gravieranstalt Gustav Gessner, each centred with a lion's head atop a central reserve and flanked by a pair of winged sphinxes, the front with monogram, all surrounded by scrolling flowers and foliage, bezels and band with repeated geometrically chased and engraved motifs, pendant and bow similarly decorated, hand-set lever beneath bezel at 4 o'clock, glazed inner cuvette, polished gold outer cuvette engraved with foliage and signed within banners and shield Wilkins & Danger, Bremen, covers with Swiss gold marks, back cover and cuvette numbered 17298, front cover numbered 98
