This sitter was the grandson of Sir John Goodricke, Bart., P.C., Envoy Extraordinary at Stockholm, whom he succeeded as 6th Baronet of Ribston, co York. He was married on 30 November 1796 to Charlotte, daughter of the Right Hon. James Fortescue. He died on March 23, 1802.
