Gold, Turquoise, Ruby, Sapphire and Diamond 'Ballerina' Clip-Brooch
Designed as a dancing ballerina, the face set with an oval-shaped rose-cut diamond, the hair decorated with round rubies, the skirt composed of graduated turquoise cabochons, highlighted by single-cut diamonds, round rubies and sapphires, signed Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered N.Y.3490; circa 1945.
In good condition with light wear to the mounting. Mounted in 18 karat gold and platinum. The turquoise in overall good condition, with very minor evidence of matrix and several examples with slightly greenish discoloration, commensurate with age. The rubies are medium slightly purplish red color, slightly to moderately included, well matched for color. The sapphires are medium deep blue color, slightly included. The diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 0.45 carat are approximately G-H color, VS clarity. Dimensions approximately 2½ x 2¼ inches. Gross weight approximately 14 dwts.
