Designed as a flower, featuring a cabochon emerald measuring approximately 31.2 x 25.1 x 15.2 mm, the petals and leaves pavé-set with round diamonds, the articulated detachable stem adorned with baguette diamonds, signed Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered 6984, with French assay marks; circa 1960.

In good condition, the mounting with signs of light wear including surface scratches, noticeable upon close inspection. French assay marks for 18 karat gold and platinum. The emerald is medium deep slightly bluish green, heavily included with surface reaching inclusions, which is typical of cabochons, and with a drill hole, suggesting it was once worn as a bead. Depth of emerald stated in cataloguing very approximate due to mounting. The diamonds, estimated to weigh a total of approximately 18.50 carats, are predominantly G-H color, VVS-VS clarity with some SI examples. Gross weight approximately 36 dwts. Stem can be removed by lifting the tab and pulling the stem down. Length with inclusive of stem approximately 4¼ inches; length without stem approximately 2¼ inches; width approximately 2½ inches. Accompanied by AGL report no. 1106188 dated January 21, 2020 stating that the emerald is of Colombian origin, clarity enhancement: minor, type: traditional.
