Gem-Set and Diamond 'Koi Pond' Brooch
Centering a portrait-cut rock crystal, depicting a koi pond painted on mother-of-pearl, bordered by a cobblestone edge of tumbled black diamonds, decorated with round diamonds, moonstones, tsavorite garnets and carved cochalong, the base further set with rectangular-shaped gray spinels, square-cut and baguette diamonds, the reverse set with round diamonds, signed DM. With signed box and fitted base.
In excellent condition. Mounted in 18 karat gold and silver. The rock crystal weighing 25.60 carats in good condition,moderately included, mimicking the appearance of cracked ice. The diamonds stated to weigh approximately 12.70 carats, the faceted diamonds are approximately E-F color, VS clarity; the "cobblestone" diamonds are medium gray and opaque. The moonstones stated to weigh approximately 5.37 carats slightly included with good adularescence. The tsavorite garnets stated to weigh 0.35 carat are medium light to medium slightly yellowish green color, eye-clean to slightly included. The gray spinels stated to weigh approximately 3.40 carats are medium light violetish purple color, eye-clean to slightly included. The cochalong in good condition. Fitted with a scalloped base similarly set, which allows the brooch to stand. Dimensions approximately 2⅜ x 1¾ inches. Gross weight approximately 23 dwts. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from David Michael Jewels. Please note this property cannot be shipped internationally due to endangered species materials.
