PAIR OF MOONSTONE AND GEM-SET CUFFLINKS


Featuring four sugarloaf cabochon moonstones, within frames of rose-cut diamonds and calibré-cut emeralds, rubies and sapphires.

  • 18 karat gold and platinum
  • Circa 1910

Condition Report

In good condition especially given the age of the piece, with light wear including surface scratches, and a few very small areas of discoloration and solder to the reverse, not visible when worn. Mountings test as 18 karat gold and platinum. The moonstones are of white body color with medium strong blue adularescence, eye clean to slightly included, the surfaces with light scratches commensurate with wear. The diamonds are bright and lively. The emeralds are medium deep slightly bluish green, slightly to moderately included, a few bearing small chips. The sapphires are medium to medium deep slightly violetish blue, slightly included, a few bearing small chips. The rubies are medium deep purplish red, slightly included. The emerald and ruby-set cufflink heads are removable. Length between cufflink heads approximately 1 inch.
