Moustiques
titré moustiques (en bas à gauche) et signé max ernst (en bas à droite)
frottage et crayon de couleur sur papier
22,3 x 18,5 cm; 8¾ x 7¼ in.
Exécuté en 1965.
Executed on cream wove paper, not laid down and hinged to the overmount along the upper edge with tape. There is a minor crease running diagonally along the upper left corner. There are some glue remnants on the reverse along the upper edge, due to previous mounting, which appears to be slightly visible by transparency on the face. There are a few faint handling marks to the lower right quadrant. The sheet is a bit light stained with a few tiny scattered dots of foxing. This work is in overall very good condition.
