The canvas is lined and inspection under UV light reveals a milky varnish through which the UV light cannot fully penetrate. There are three small spots of retouching in the upper right quadrant at the right edge and several lines of craquelure which run vertically and are predominantly in the lower half of the composition. There is a historic pinpoint sized loss towards the centre of the left edge and a handful of tiny flecks of loss at the extreme edges and corners. There is light surface dirt and the work would clean extremely well. This work is in overall good condition.
