This work is in good condition overall. The colors are vibrant, and the media layer is stable. There is a very slight curve to the support board. A few isolated spots of pigment loss are present in the lower left quadrant, the most notable of which are a 1/2-inch vertical band next to the tree trunk and a 1/4 inch vertical line in the neck of the horse. Very fine spiderweb craquelure is present in the spots of heavy red pigment in the tree in the upper left corner, which have resulted in a few isolated pinpoint losses to these spots. Under raking light inspection, two isolated 2-inch circular areas of very fine, stable spiderweb craquelure become apparent in the upper center and upper right quadrants, in the circular and fleur-de-lis shaped areas of lilac and baby blue pigment.
