Conceived in 1892 and in this bust format in 1918; the present work cast between 1918 and 1927.
This work will be included in the forthcoming Catalogue Critique de l'oeuvre sculpté d'Auguste Rodin being currently prepared by Galerie Brame & Lorenceau under the direction of Jérôme Le Blay under the archive number 2005-743B.
In very good condition. Dark brown and black patina. Visible casting seams, especially in figure's forehead and sleeves inherent to medium. Various nicks and scratches inherent with age. Few tiny patina losses along edge of form.
