Case: 18k yellow gold, cuvette, hinged back

Case number: 407'876

The movement is in working condition at the time of cataloguing. All functions are working properly. The tinted enamel dial is nice and intact. The case is very crisp and the hinges are nice and tight. There is just some light surface wear to the case, some minor scratches to the case back but more than consistent with the age of the watch.

Please note that the movement has not been tested for the accuracy of time and may need a service at the buyer's expense. Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement and we do not guarantee the authenticity of any individual component parts since subsequent repairs and restoration work may have resulted in the replacement of original parts.

You are advised that watch straps or bands made of materials derived from endangered or otherwise protected species (i.e. alligator or crocodile) are not sold with the watch and we reserve the right to remove these straps or bands prior to shipping. Furthermore, the watch may not come with its original manufacturers strap or band.

A sign of quality is the use of tinted enamel dial. This was a tradition primarily used by English makers but sometimes also used in Switzerland. Tinted enamel is when the regular white is coloured to appear more cream. In addition to this beautiful dial, the watch features a 30 minute register and subsidiary seconds that have been positioned vertically on the dial. The watch is furthermore retained in excellent condition and complete with its original certificate.
