In 1993 Audemars Piguet introduced the Royal Oak Offshore, a new version of the classic Royal Oak model. Designed by Emmanuel Gueit, the reference 25721ST was quickly nicknamed “The Beast” mainly due to its impressive case size of 42mm.

This present "E series" version, presents a mesmerising dial with an unusual additional effect. The colour of the tapisserie dial - originally blue when the watch was made – has naturally faded into a caramel brown. This phenomenon – referred to as “tropical” by collectors – is caused by the materials used in the manufacture of the dial discolouring over time after being exposed to certain elements such as the sun and other forms of light. The stunning effect creates an attractive patina on the surfaces affected, making these dials incredibly appealing.
