The reference 5396 Annual Calendar was first launched in 2006 with the latest generation of automatic calibres, the 324 series, and with double in-line apertures that reflect the style of the 1940s and 1950s. It was based on the Calatrava reference 5296 and equally features an attractive 'two-tone sector dial', which is an attribute highly sought-after by collectors.

In 2010, Patek Philippe replaced the sector dial with traditional gold markers, therefore rendering this earlier example even more collectible. The present lot is further offered complete with its Certificate of Origin and presentation case.
